Renowned for rye, America’s first whiskey, since our founding in 1753, we take production of every barrel of Michter’s Rye very seriously. Michter's US-1 Rye is made from select American rye grain that is sheared to enable the saturation of more flavor during fermentation. It is then aged in a heated warehouse. This premium rye has hints of light spice, black pepper, marmalade and plum, spicy grain and light caramel.
Michter’s US-1 Bourbon is made from a carefully selected mashbill that features the highest quality American corn. It is then matured to the peak of perfection, with barrels often aging in excess of eight years. Truly “small batch,” each batch of our US*1 Bourbon is typically composed of no more than two dozen barrels, leaving no margin for “blending out” imperfection and thus necessitating excellence from every barrel. Reflecting the spirit of the Bluegrass State, Michter’s US*1 Bourbon is nuanced, mellow, and earthy.

Our first two batches yielded. 12,000-15,000 bottles and were available in 8 other markets other than Tennessee. 95% rye / 5% malted barley 4 & 8 year ryes (at least 25% 8 Year added) 100 Proof
This is a blend of multiple types of malt and grain that Nikka reserves. Nikka From the Barrel was created to deliver full flavors and richness of whisky "from barrels" which only blenders can sniff and taste. As the whisky contains so many characteristic components at a higher alcohol of 51.4%, it is essential to let the liquid "marriage" in used casks for 3-6 months for it to stabilize and harmonize. The concept of the unique short squared bottle is "a small lump of whisky", which perfectly visualizes the rich and strong taste of the whisky inside.
We craft a remarkably smooth and innovative spirit that transcends tradition. Old Elk Blended Straight Bourbon Whiskey uses four times more malted barley than conventional recipes and a Slow Cut™ proofing process. This creates a rich, smooth flavor, in harmony with caramel cues evoked by charred barrels, and spicy notes of rye.

In 1870 George Garvin Brown created Old Forester on Louisville, KY’s famous whiskey row. In honor of that milestone year in bourbon history, we have crafted a tribute – Old Forester 1870 Original Batch – the first craft expression in the Old Forester Whiskey Row Series. Old Forester 1870 Original Batch echoes George Garvin Brown’s original 1870 batching process. Back then, Brown batched barrels obtained from three distilleries to create a consistent flavor profile. To emulate that process today, we also select barrels from three warehouses, each barrel originating from a different day of production, with a different entry proof and a different age profile. The three expressions of Old Forester are then batched together to craft Old Forester 1870 Original Batch. This 90-proof bourbon will be minimally filtered, to honor the processes available to George Garvin Brown at that time.
Whiskey Row Series, is crafted to honor a watershed moment in bourbon history – the U.S. Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. This 100 proof expression is the second release in our Old Forester Whiskey Row Series and was specially crafted to honor the U.S. Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. After the U.S. Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897 to be labeled as Bottled in Bond, whisky must be the product of one distillation season, one distiller and from one distillery. The concept behind the Act – the idea of “sealed-in quality” – was something that Old Forester – America’s First Bottled Bourbon – introduced in 1870.
1910 Old Fine Whisky, Old Forester’s fourth and final expression in the Whiskey Row Series, is a double barreled Bourbon creating a smooth mingling of sweet oatmeal raisin cookie and milk chocolate, caramel corn, and evolving spice that lead into a refined, charred oak finish.
In crafting 1920, we were able to spend time thinking about the legacy of Owsley Brown I and what was an incredibly unique era in our country’s history – Prohibition. 1920 Prohibition Style is our toast to the innovative and enduring spirit of Old Forester. This 115 proof expression is the third release in our Old Forester Whiskey Row series and celebrates the brand’s continued distillation during Prohibition. For 13 years, the production, transport and sale of alcohol was strictly prohibited. However, Old Forester was granted a permit to continue distilling on Louisville’s Whiskey Row. The 115 proof expression represents a barrel sample that company president Owsley Brown I would have batched at the beginning of Prohibition.
Consistency, balance, and above all, quality. That's what drove Old Forester founder George Garvin Brown to seal bourbon in a glass bottle — and sign his name to it as a personal guarantee — for the very first time way back in 1870. Today, Old Forester remains the distinguished choice for those who appreciate authenticity in their bourbon. Here's your exclusive opportunity to share a special place in this legacy with this single-barrel release. From Lee Diaz, Topflight Series Panel Member: Old Forester has an amazing tradition and heritage in every bottle, from the standard 86 Proof to the distillery-only releases and famed Birthday Bourbon. Their single barrel line allows them to flex some muscle and show off incredible variations from the core line found in exceptional individual barrels at cask strength. Returning to Louisville necessitated a stop back to 119 W. Main Street to select another spectacular Barrel Strength Single Barrel Bourbon. And the team at Old Forester pulled out all of the stops, giving us access to a truly spectacular barrel that tops 130-proof. This is classic Old Forester with tremendous nuance, and the profile expands all the more as you let this sit with a rock. You smell dark fruit, pecan, toasted sugar, clove, and cola on the nose. This awakens your senses with every sip that reveals flavors of dark chocolate, marzipan, graham cracker, cinnamon, and cherry. As you let these flavors linger, they lead into a long finish full of herbal tea, honey, stone fruit, toasted oak, and pepper. This is a really quality pour from the first pop to the final sip.
